Professional Tutor
Pathway 1:
Tutors who are skilled and knowledgeable in their subject areas but do not hold formal teaching qualifications. These tutors bring subject-matter expertise and a passion for education, ensuring they can effectively support students.​
At Better Tuition Academy, these tutors undergo comprehensive training, equipping them with the pedagogical skills, lesson planning techniques, and behaviour management strategies needed to deliver high-quality tutoring. This training ensures that even without formal teaching qualifications, they meet BTA’s high standards for personalised, effective education.
Specialist Tutor or Provisional Teacher
Pathway 1: 
Tutors with at least 5 years of tutoring experience and who have taught over 2,500 one-on-one lesson hours.
Pathway 2: 
Fully accredited teachers with provisional accreditation who have experience in both classroom teaching and/or tutoring roles.
Pathway 3:
Degree Holders: Tutors with degrees in mathematics (or other relevant fields) who have demonstrated exceptional subject-matter expertise.
Expert Tutor or Proficient Teacher
Pathway 1: Expert Tutor
Tutors with at least 10 years of tutoring experience and a proven track record of teaching over 5,000 one-on-one lesson hours, demonstrating mastery in their subject and effective teaching methods.
Pathway 2: Proficient Teacher
Fully accredited teachers with Proficient Teacher accreditation, significant classroom teaching experience, and demonstrated ability to deliver effective lessons that align with curriculum standards.
Highly Accomplished Teacher
Pathway 1: Highly experienced and qualified teachers with multiple years of teaching expertise, including HSC marking or lecturing experience.

We'll send you a short form to complete with specifics about your child. We’ll then arrange a free first lesson to uncover your child’s strengths and areas for improvement. This allows us to create a customised plan designed to achieve their specific goals and gives us a base line of what they know and what they need to work & improve on.

Step 3: Start Tutoring – Sit back and Watch the Results Add Up!
Once the plan is in place, we’ll touch base and collect feedback on how your child found the first lesson. Based on the feedback and plan, we'll arrange weekly or fortnightly sessions with our expert team.
Expect measurable progress, growing confidence, and a new love for learning.

BTA academies are designed to be as inclusive as possible. The downstairs academies at Belrose are wheelchair-accessible. Similarly, our Mona Vale academy is wheelchair-accessible and features an internal elevator from the parking lot.
